Vidula has written a number of articles in Marathi and English on the current economic affairs, development of entrepreneurship and leadership. She is a corporate trainer on `creativity in business' and `leadership'. Vidula had great honour of representing India in the study meeting on `Creative Entrepreneurship: Technological Innovations' organized by Asian Productivity Council in July 2006 at Taiwan, where she read the country paper on the subject. A Commerce graduate and diploma holder in financial management, Vidula has rich professional experience of over twenty years in the areas of finance and research. Since October 2007, she has started her own oursourcing company, `Panacea BPO Services Pvt Ltd.' The company undertakes end to end processes in the fields of accounts, SCM, stores and HR. They are servicing large customers in telecom and banking sector as well as small and medium industries. Apart from the business, Vidula is associated with the self help groups in Pune city thro `Smile'. In February 2006, she was recognised for exemplary work in entrepreneurship development, by ` Entrepreneurs International' and Vikhe Patil Foundation. Vidula started her career in finance department of engineering industry. During her tenure in the medium and large engineering companies, she constantly trained herself and was involved in crucial functions of planning, finance, MIS and development. She has rich experience in the areas of MIS, budgeting, foreign currency management, company law procedures and taxation. She was working with Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture, Pune as the Director, till October 2007. She was in charge of direct taxation, corporate law, women entrepreneurs and education subcommittees of the Chamber, besides heading the finance and accounts department. She has been instrumental in two crucial initiatives and special purpose vehicles, namely the food testing laboratory and auto cluster at Pune. She is also a trainer-motivator for SMEs. Vidula has taken innovative efforts in building networks of women entrepreneurs and creating an interface between lawmakers and industries. She is well-traveled within India and abroad. She had been selected as a rotary scholar for the Group Study Exchange to study the working ot the chambers of commerce in California, USA. She has represented MCCIA to lead the group of post graduate management students to Bangkok, Hongkong and Shanghai.

After having worked in newspaper, radio and TV Ujjwala switched to academics. She now heads the prestigious Department of Communication and Journalism, University of Pune. She teaches various subjects like Broadcast Journalism, Media Research Methodology, Writing Skills for the Media to the master and diploma courses. She also is a Ph.D. research guide She has worked on a few Research Projects funded by the University Grants Commission and has presented research papers in national and international conferences. She has maintained close ties with the industry as a free-lance contributor.
